Providers understand the root issues that impact healthy outcomes and want to support affordable housing to improve the communities they serve. There are unique financing programs, including low income housing and historical tax credits, but it’s often unclear how community-based organizations can participate and see the benefits. This generic review of how tax credits are deployed to developers and how they secure investments and contracts with providers to create new affordable housing units will shed light on the complex issue as we review the process, outcomes and why these arrangements succeed if proper policies are in place.
