NAMI, National Alliance on Mental Illness
Arlington, Virginia
Hannah Wesolowski, MPA, is the Chief Advocacy Officer at NAMI, where she oversees NAMI’s Government Relations, Policy & Advocacy team working to advance NAMI’s federal priorities and support the policy work of the NAMI Alliance. Hannah and the NAMI government relations team work with advocates, partners, and NAMI leaders to enact policy change that will improve the lives of all people affected by mental health conditions. She believes in the power of advocates sharing their stories to advance research, increase mental health funding, improve access to care, expand social supports, and decriminalize mental illness.
Hannah serves as a member of NAMI’s Executive Team and is a frequent NAMI spokesperson to the media on mental health policy topics. She previously served as NAMI’s Director of Field Advocacy for more than four years, working closely to build advocate capacity and influence federal policymaking through broad advocacy campaigns.
Prior to joining NAMI, Hannah worked at the Public Affairs Council, providing support to leading associations and nonprofit advocacy groups to build grassroots advocacy programs. She also previously led political advocacy efforts at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and developed engagement efforts at the American Institute of Architects.
Hannah graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from New York University, where she also attained a Master of Public Administration from NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
