Director
The Delta Project
Cole Williams is director of The Delta Project, a nonprofit organization that was created to support juvenile justice-involved youth and families and the systems that serve them. He is a father, former foster parent, adoptive parent, consultant, author and tireless advocate.
As a former foster and adoptive dad of eight sons, Williams knows all too well the challenges that can arise when navigating unfamiliar systems without a translator to help guide you through the terrain. For the past 15 years, he has successfully walked alongside youth, families and systems to pave the way toward improved outcomes for all. Williams understands the impact that shared language and understanding can have on youth, families, systems and communities.
He currently works directly with family services systems from across the state of Michigan (juvenile justice, child welfare, etc.) to provide parenting education, youth empowerment opportunities, youth/family engagement strategies, cultural responsivity across systems and other training and support for youth, families and those that serve them. He also provides high-level, sought-after workshops and trainings that are rooted in a culture of care for system-serving professions engaging and providing services to system-involved families.
Williams was appointed by Gov .Gretchen Whitmer in 2021 to serve on the Michigan Juvenile Justice Reform Task Force and subsequently was appointed and is honored to serve on the Michigan Committee on Juvenile Justice.
