Dr. Chaunise "Chaun" Powell is a licensed clinical social worker, school social worker and educational leader. She holds a Masters in Social Work and Doctorate in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Social Justice. Currently, Dr. Powell serves as the Director - Youth Health & Wellness for the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) where she works to support the development and implementation of an integrated mental health & wellness system that provides services to students across the county. She brings a diverse background in the field having served in various roles within education, child welfare, and a social worker within residential treatment and gang intervention programs. Dr. Powell also serves as adjunct faculty at San José State University where she teaches in the School of Social Work and sits on several boards, advisory committees, state, and local task forces that support Youth Health & Wellness Programs for youth throughout the state of California.
