Mark Sasvary is chief clinical officer of Coordinated Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) IPA, LLC, which is comprised of 30 progressive, non-profit, community behavioral health and disability service providers serving over 60,000 people in the Hudson River Region of New York. CBHS maximizes the intellectual capacity and resources of its member agencies in order to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing health care system. CBHS also develops innovative business initiatives that successfully integrate and manage care, are cost effective, outcome-based and essential for success in a value-based environment.
Prior to working at CBHS, Sasvary worked at Hudson Valley Mental Health (HVMH) for 10 years where he worked as a clinician, director of quality assurance, director of clinical services, and interim president. During his time at HVMH, Sasvary oversaw eight mental health clinics licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health which served over 5,000 people each year. At HVMH, Sasvary played an integral role in numerous projects including implementing new electronic health records, contracting and grant application and taking important steps toward integrated care and value-based payments.
Sasvary received his master’s degree in social work from SUNY Albany in 2007 and is currently working on a PhD in social welfare. Sasvary's dissertation research is focused on evidence-based treatments for PTSD in community mental health. He has advanced training in evidence-based clinical treatment from the Albert Ellis Institute, the Beck Institute, the Institute for Disaster Mental Health, the International OCD Foundation and the University of Pennsylvania. He has also trained and supervised clinical and management staff in the field of behavioral health and presented at symposiums and conferences on topics such as value-based payments, social determinants of health and integrated care.
