Brief Bio Victor A. Martini, LICSW
Victor Martini, LICSW, is a full-time therapist working at Untied Counseling Service of Bennington County (UCS) Vermont. He has been the director of Community Rehabilitation and Emergency Services for UCS and served in that position for over 16 years. Mr. Martini has worked to develop an Open Dialogue-based demonstration project in Bennington Vermont. He has developed a specialty team trained in Collaborative Network Approach (CNA) – each member having received over 180 hours of training and ongoing mentoring/supervision. CNA is an adaptation of Open Dialogue (OD), the Finnish evidence-based practice (ebp). Mr. Martini is a Vermont CNA trainer, providing Level 1 and Level 2 training for statewide staff development and training.
The UCS CNA team has worked with various divisions of the agency, including Community Rehabilitation and Treatment(CRT) services, crisis services, Developmental Services and Adult Mental Health services. Currently Mr. Martini is working with the admissions team in developing the Same Day Access program. This new, innovative project offers every new intake person a CNA-type of network meeting on the same day that they request services. Mr. Martini has over thirty-eight years of experience working in the mental health field. He has worked in adolescent residential treatment, adult mental health treatment, and he has managed hospital-based and community-based programs in both New York State and Vermont. He is a licensed clinical social worker in both New York and Vermont. He was the founder of the Consortium of Continuing Day Treatment Programs of N.Y., Inc., and served as their president for 10 years. The organization provided advocacy, support, and training for nearly 100 member programs throughout New York State. Mr. Martini also teaches courses in Sociology at Schenectady County Community College.
