Melanie Grace Babbitt, LMSW, is Team Lead of Outpatient Biopsyhcosocial Services for People with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD) at Integral Care in Austin, Texas. She provides skills trainings and complex case management to people with co-occurring IDD and mental health diagnosis. Her team provides training to caregivers, mental health providers, and first responders. Melanie is trained in DBT, CBT, EMDR, and Trauma Informed Yoga. As someone with a unique life history, she deeply values the diversity of thought and experience that people with IDD have to offer. Through her work she has learned that people with IDD have higher rates of mental health needs, yet lower rates of access to mental health services. This inequity inspired a passion to make mental health services more accesible to people with IDD, thereby elevating the power of people with IDD, and ultimately building a more inclusive society; one that is healthier and more diverse in thought. Melanie is expected to become a LCSW in Spring of 2022. In her spare time she likes to study herbalism, travel with loved ones, and practice radical kindness to everyone she meets.
