Whether or not Gabapentin, benzodiazepines or prescription stimulants like Adderall are absolute contraindications to initiating buprenorphine is a question many clinicians face. We will explore how to implement a harm reduction approach with an individual who needs opioid medication-assisted treatment (MAT) but is also using one of these medications and is not willing to stop.
