In schools, specifically interscholastic athletics, there has been a rise in mental health cases involving anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and other mental health disorders. This presentation's information helps attendees to provide solutions through programming and creating actionable steps in athletics in schools and in the community. Areas of focus include effects of social media (as a part of social-emotional wellness), leadership/mentorship, mental health education, mental health literacy and the "teacher-coach" as educational components.
