Increasing staff turnover and difficulty recruiting new team members have been identified as significant threats to the sustainability of many Community Behavioral Health Organizations (CBHOs). The recent employment landscape is taking shape with rising compensation, creative incentives and increased competition for both direct care and administrative staff. CBHOs need to engage employees as valued and essential partners in creating sustainable, evidence-based programming to meet the needs of individuals served. We will discuss effective strategies to develop and implement systems to support employee engagement, recruitment and retention.
