Brian Bower is alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) and PhD trained molecular biologist working as a Scientist III in the Gene and Cell Therapy team (GCTx) at BioAgilytix Labs, LLC’s (BAL) Durham, North Carolina Location adjacent to the Research Triangle Park (RTP). In his two years at BAL, Brian has acted as the scientific and technical lead on a variety of regulated GCTx projects, including evaluation of AAV biodistribution and viral shedding via quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR), and monitoring of cellular kinetics and determination of drug product titre via droplet digital PCR (PCR). Prior to work at BAL, Brian has worked on a variety of industry immunoassay projects including contracting and consulting through his own company, BDB LLC, for a client developing small molecule kinase inhibitors, and working on contract for BASF to facilitate deregulation of the Latitude canola crop product. Prior to his transition to industry, Brian has worked on a diverse portfolio of academic projects including characterization of aging-related biochemical pathways at the University of Michigan and UNC-CH, characterization of AAV Capsid/Genome interactions with Aravind Asokan, and investigating the endocrinological underpinnings of obesity and diabetes in mice at Ohio University.
