Mark is a formulations and biophysical development scientist with over 20 years’ experience leading technical teams. He has always maintained a strong curiosity about the pharmaceutical significance of higher-order structures. He has contributed to understanding the fundamental structure of mRNA-lipid nanoparticles and was part of the team that developed the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine. He has headed up an analytical biophysical development team since joining Moderna in 2016.
Dr. Brader graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Massey University in New Zealand then held postdoctoral positions at the University of California at Riverside, Department of Biochemistry and Rutgers University, Department of Chemistry. He has broad experience across the biopharmaceutical industry focused on formulation development, pharmaceutical biophysics, and specialized delivery systems.
