How much should we trust what our brains are telling us? We bet our life on it every moment. Instinctively, we tend to rely on our own perceptions and beliefs more than, and to the exclusion of, the stated perceptions and beliefs of others. Law enforcement benefit from having a strong understanding of this process. So how do we form our understanding of our world? Officers will learn new information about sensation, perception, attention and memory, and heuristics and belief. At the conclusion, participants will be charged with some things to consider going forward with this information.
