Let’s localize our messaging and outreach! Too often, traffic safety outreach programs fall short from reaching rural communities or struggle with messaging that fails to address the needs of the community. Customizing campaigns focused on risky driving behaviors such as distraction and belt use and finding local champions and partnerships is critical for success. Learn from successful programs like the North Dakota Association of Counties that meet citizens where they are, partner with local agencies, and speak their language.
