Safe Kids Worldwide is a nonprofit organization working to protect kids from preventable injuries, the number one cause of death for children in the United States. We work with an extensive network of more than 400 coalitions in the U.S. and with partners in 30 countries to keep kids safe at home, on the road and at play.
We partner with General Motors to protect kids in and around cars through the Safe Kids Buckle Up program (SKBU). Since its inception in 1997, the SKBU program has grown into the most comprehensive CPS program in the world. Thanks to the support of GM, we have reached more than 29 million families and distributed more than 784,000 car seats to families in need. Our efforts also include programs in other critical areas such as bike safety, pedestrian safety and rail safety. During COVID-19, these programs have evolved to provide life-saving resources and virtual and online education to families, no matter where they live.
