Assistant State Librarian for Innovation & Collaboration
Georgia Public Library Service
Angela Stanley is Assistant State Librarian for Innovation and Collaboration at Georgia Public Library Service, and previously served as Director of Archival Services and Digital Initiatives. Issues of open access to history and culture and digital equity are central to her work in libraries and archives. Prior to joining the state library she worked in a variety of roles at public libraries large and small, including Head of Archives and Special Collections at the Athens Regional Library System and Senior Librarian at the New York Public Library.
Angela received her MLIS with a certificate in Archives, Records Management, and Preservation from Queens College, City University of New York, and her B.A. in English and Women's Studies from Fordham University. She is a Certified Archivist and Digital Archives Specialist, and has held leadership roles in many professional organizations, most recently as President of the Society of Georgia Archivists.
When not thinking about libraries, Angela enjoys cooking with her daughter, learning about wine, playing tennis, and going on adventures with her Great Pyrenees, Selah.
