Co-Owner & President
Franklin Academy & Franklin Fixtures
Lisa Uhrik is co-owner, founder and leader of Franklin Fixtures, Franklin Academy, and Plenty on Spring. A lifelong literacy advocate and organizational development specialist, she is author of America Becoming (2021), where she applies developmental psychology to frame today's challenges in a fresh and productive way. Her new book, The Count on Me Culture (fall 2023), is designed to help organizations of all types thrive in a permanent people shortage where the workforce, the volunteers and the retirees have all dramatically shifted in their perspectives and desires. Lisa enjoys helping facilitate clear, fresh and productive action and loves nothing more than supporting libraries and small bookstores in their quests at the heart of community.
Lisa and husband Dave work daily with Franklin Fixtures, their small manufacturing companies that has been building bookstores, libraries and museums for almost 50 years. Working deeply with people interested in book display has given Lisa a unique classroom and vantage point where she is able to see what is working around the country. She is passionate about taking best practices into broader view and helping all book spaces thrive.
Her weekly "Count on Me Culture" podcast and "Tuesday Tweaks" are popular sources of continued thought leadership and learning, featuring libraries and bookstores from across the country.
She and husband Dave enjoy the challenges of helping communities form and talent develop and have put together a "111 year plan" for development beyond their lifetimes. They enjoy their five ill-mannered (but well loved dogs) and large blended family. Though Lisa never gave birth, she is blessed with 13 children and 19 grandchildren... along with a large extended family of employees and coworkers.
