Raised in Nova Scotia, Canada, Lucas Maxwell spent five years as Teen Services Librarian in Canada before moving to the UK to become a High School Librarian in 2013. He currently writes for Book Riot and in the past has written for School Library Journal, the ALA and wrote a guide for Librarians on Podcasting for ABC-CLIO. As an autistic librarian, his focus is on inclusion and empathy. In 2017 he was named the UK's School Librarian of the Year by the School Library Association.
