Lauren Deering is the Coordinator of Civic Engagement Programming at The New York Public Library. As a member of the Outreach Services team, Lauren believes in building authentic and meaningful civic experiences that promote dialogue and communication, foster community engagement and participation, and inspire lifelong learning.
Throughout her career, Lauren has been dedicated to serving communities through creating high quality educational experiences and building opportunities for community engagement and connection. Lauren has served in education management roles within nonprofit arts and culture organizations, developing programs and experiences for public schools, families, and local communities in New York and New Jersey.
Lauren holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Montclair State University in Music and Community Settings and is a graduate of National Arts Strategies’ Executive Program in Arts & Culture Strategy. She is currently pursuing her Master of Public Administration degree from CUNY Baruch College.
