Sara has worked in a variety of libraries and brings that experience to the many projects she manages to support LS&S libraries. Sara previously served as the Deputy Director of the Ventura, California library system and managed the Main Library of the Jacksonville Public Library which included the Adult Literacy department, a Special Collections department and an innovative makerspace and art gallery. She authored Family Engagement at the Library: Bringing Families Together to Learn, Grow and Have Fun with Rebekah Mitchell, published in The Relevant Library: Essays on Adapting to Changing Needs edited by Vera Gubnitskaia and Carol Smallwood.
Sara is a project manager with a drive to improve libraries. She earned her first master’s degree in teaching from Georgia College & State University and her second master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Alabama.
