Join the creators and hosts of the successful "Cooking by the Book" YouTube series, designed and recorded in the media services studio at Baltimore County Public Library. Make the best use of your cookbook collection by creating short YouTube videos and adjacent programming to help your customers become more proficient in the kitchen. This program will help you select the right cookbooks and recipes that are both visually appealing and quick enough for a video or program. Learn tips and tricks for filming and editing a cooking show with limited budget and experience. Once you have a following, we'll show you how to expand to other programs like working with local chefs and creating cookbook reading groups.
Learning Objectives:
Learn how to set up a cooking demonstration at the library, with instruction on types of equipment needed to succeed, how to select easy, yet visually appealing recipes.
How to begin filming a cooking program to be hosted on Youtube, with tips and tricks if your library doesn’t have its own media services department.
How to make best use of your collection to highlight a diverse range of authors and food styles that will aid in further learning and discussion.
How to expand the cooking program to further engage your customers, to discover other programs and events to host for continued success
