Teach Media Literacy with "Trust Me" Documentary Film and News Literacy Project Curriculum

Watch a special one-hour made for television, award-winning film, "Trust Me", then learn how to integrate Civics and MIL for students, parents, educators, and communities, into your Library with this workshop: Integrate Media & Information Literacy (MIL) into your Library, Classroom, or Campus Curriculum with this award-winning documentary film, 15-classroom friendly film clips, and guides developed by News Literacy Project. "Trust Me" documentary brings awareness of peoples' need for MIL to help build trust, resilience, well-being, lessen polarization, and preserve democracy. The three guides (K-12, Collegiate, and Parental) allow for fast core standard teaching with lesson plans, student led impact campaign ideas and further exploration of the subject. They are customizable to librarian and teacher specifications allowing educators to integrate their own MIL resources and build upon the programming. Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will learn to install media literacy in middle, high, and collegiate classrooms and libraries using the same media that is responsible for online manipulation - film.
Upon completion, participants will receive resources to build media literacy skills for K-12, Collegiate, and Adult communities.
Upon completion, participants will be empowered with tools to teach MIL to students, communities, and correctional facilities.
Upon completion, participants will be empowered with MIL ideas to share with others.
Upon completion, Participants will see how media "ill-literacy" is affecting all of us and contributing to the major problems our world faces today.
