Building Youth Financial Capability through Storytime

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) will introduce you to CFPB tools and resources for building youth financial capability through storytime. CFPB will introduce you to Money as You Grow, Money as You Grow Book Shelf and the Money Monsters. Learn how the free CFPB materials are centered around a set of three building blocks for building financial knowledge, skills and developing habits and norms that will facilitate financial well-being in adulthood and how you can combine storytime with fun activities to build both literacy and financial capability of youth.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to use a set of common children's books to build youth financial capability while providing resources for extended learning to parents.
Upon completion, participants will have knowledge of research based activities that can be used for youth financial education workshops.
Upon completion, participants will know how to combine the Money Monster Storybook Series and activities to create a youth financial education series.
