Dennis J. Gardin sustained extensive burn injuries & trauma in a horrific gasoline explosion as a child and reflects upon both the struggles & victories experienced from living with a physical disfigurement & low self-esteem… as illustration of the limitless ability we each possess to harness our untapped potential to successfully navigate the inevitable storms of life.Dennis endured a lengthy hospitalization, dozens of surgeries, painful treatments & years of rehabilitation. Intense physical, as well as emotional anguish caused him to hide away in isolation for 2 years in his parents’ home, allowing his dreams to die & hope to fade. But with the steadfast love & support of family/friends, he began to focus on the purpose for his life, as he came to understand that real strength is seeking help when needed and true courage is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to move forward despite obstacles.He has grown along his journey of self-discovery to evolve from “burn victim-to-burn survivor.” His professional dossier includes international speaker, facilitator, ministrant, former television talk show host & radio personality, entrepreneur, and consultant working with diverse organizations, in both the corporate & nonprofit sectors. Currently he is honored to serve in the capacity of Executive Director for the GEORGIA FIREFIGHTERS BURN FOUNDATION, which he considers a true labor of love that allows him the privilege of working to support & empower individuals, families & communities impacted by the devastation of burn injury & trauma. In his spare time, there are few things more enjoyable than camping out in front of TV eating junk food while watching sports… and feels his ultimate role at this stage in life is working to be a better father & being the “World’s Greatest GrandPa” J Dennis is confident that dreams do come true and we really can design the life we desire… with a belief-in-self & leaning into hope for the future; May sharing time & space today inspire individuals to face their own inner-scars & self-limiting beliefs, thus creating an abundant, fulfilling life of purpose. His personal mission is to encourage people to connect into their natural gifts & talents and realize… ”The unlimited possibilities for life are in direct relation to unlimited thinking!”
