Megan Riccio, French horn player and music educator grew up in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Ms. Riccio earned Bachelor of Music degrees in Horn Performance and Music Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She also earned a Master of Music in Horn Performance from the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ms. Riccio has been an active freelancer across New England for the last ten years and is now also working across South Florida. She has performed in various types of ensembles including symphonic orchestra, theatre orchestra, jazz ensembles and chamber music. She is a current member of the Boston Brass Ensemble and Greg Hopkins’ Cryogenic Renaissance Orchestra (aka the Greg Hopkins Nonet).
In addition to performing, Ms. Riccio has taught instrumental music at all levels in the public schools. She has maintained a private horn studio with as many as 40 students at one time. Her students have been successful in numerous District, All State, All Eastern, All National festivals, and many summer music festivals. Ms. Riccio is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree (May 2023) at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami where she serves as the graduate teaching assistant in Chamber Music and studies horn with Richard Todd.
