Kayonne Riley has worked in public media for over 30 years, starting at KAMU-FM in College Station, Texas where she was Program Director, hosted daily jazz and classical music programs, and was a producer of a local arts & cultural program.
Upon relocating to Orlando, Florida, Kayonne joined WUCF in 1994 as Program Director and program host, and was soon named as the Station Manager/Director of the station. Kayonne led the transition of WUCF 89.9’s program format to the full-time straight-ahead jazz format that the community now enjoys. In September of 2019, Kayonne led the transition of 89.9’s HD 2 signal to Latin Jazz – in an effort to better serve Central Florida’s large Latin American population. She also serves as WUCF-FM’s music director, music host, and digita/podcast productions director.
She is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a minor in History. Kayonne teaches the Radio/Audio Programming and Production class for the School of Communication at the University of Central Florida. The class focuses on all areas of audio broadcasting: radio, and podcasts.
She is the recipient of the Jazzweek programmer of the year award for 2019.
