He has recorded 16 critically acclaimed albums as a leader, performed on more than 60 as a sideman, and has composed and arranged for Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.
Armacost is a widely respected educator. He has been on the faculty at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in New York since 2015, and is also associated with the Sweelinck and Prince Claus Conservatories in Amsterdam and Groningen, Holland.
