Jamie Roth is an accomplished composer/arranger, educator, and performer. He is the Director of Bands and Jazz Studies at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Roth holds a B.M. from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Studio Jazz Writing from the University of Miami. Upon graduation, he began his teaching career at FAU teaching music theory, orchestration, and music technology. He has been a National Board Certified Educator since 2004. In 2007, he was awarded the Outstanding Secondary Teacher Award from the Florida Atlantic University Department of Education and was elected one of FMEA’s Emerging Leaders. Mr. Roth has served the Florida Bandmasters Association as both District Secretary and Chairman and is a seasoned State adjudicator in the areas of Solos and Ensemble, Concert Bands, and Jazz Music Performance. Mr. Roth performs regularly with Rock/Funk Horn Bands, Wind Ensembles, Pit Orchestras, and Big Bands throughout South Florida. He is skilled in audio/studio production and has produced numerous projects for clients while working at notable recording studios and with well-known engineers in the industry. He is a published composer/arranger who is commissioned to write for a variety of school and professional wind, pop/rock, and jazz bands of all ability levels. Recently, his works have been performed by the U.S. Airmen of Note and U.M. Frost School of Music’s Henry Mancini Big Band. Jamie was also invited to have his arrangements performed by Randy Brecker during his big band engagements. Jamie has many arrangements published by FJH and Excelcia music publishing companies. Mr. Roth’s reputation for tuneful, intriguing, and playable compositions/arrangements has earned his work a place in many educational and professional band libraries. He is a member of the NAfME, JEN, FMEA, FBA, and the International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers.
