Jacobo Nitsch. Dean of the Faculty of Music and Visual Arts of the Da Vinci University of Guatemala. Jacobo Nitsch is a Guatemalan promoter and ambassador of arts education in the country, in addition to being a famous trumpet player, arranger, producer, educator, composer and author, being active in the popular music and jazz scene in Guatemala. He is president of the Friends of Art Foundation (Fundación Amigos del Arte FUNDADELA), with which he has reaffirmed himself as an academic committed to the social projection and transformation of the lives of Guatemalan youth and children, providing better opportunities through the arts and music education. He has received several scholarships, so he is an alumni of Fulbright LASPAU, the Carolina Foundation of the Government of Spain and the German Academic Exchange Cooperation (DAAD). He has participated as a speaker and poster presenter at the ISME (International Seminar of Music Education), NAFME (National Association for Music Education) and FMEA (Florida Music Education Association).

In his musical career, he is recognized for his work as a trumpeter and composer in the group Malacates Trebol Shop, a band that has transcended the borders of Guatemala with a career spanning more than 25 years. In addition, he is the leader of Jazzimba, a jazz combo with which he presents a fusion between jazz and the marimba, considered the national instrument of the country. This fusion has now become a new musical genre that has come to stay, grow and evolve, serving as a link for the creation, creativity and versatility of Guatemalan jazz. J. Nitsch is a visionary artist, committed to the arts, education, and most importantly, to the development of his country.
