The mission of the non-profit Sacramento Jazz Education Foundation (SacJEF) is to preserve and promote early jazz music by supporting the education, performance, and appreciation of America's original art form.
SacJEF offers a number of programs to encourage young students to learn about and play jazz - we provide free instruments, private music lessons, an honor youth band, an annual scholastic festival at which thousands of dollars in scholarships are awarded, and an annual youth jazz camp held in the foothills of northern California.
Our newest program is The Lesson Bank, where anyone who is interested in learning how to play or teach jazz and improvisation can log in and watch individual video lessons on nearly every aspect of jazz performance.
