Kevin J. Connors, MS, MFT is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in private practice in Long Beach, California, specializing in treating dissociative disorders and complex post-traumatic stress disorder, and a frequent national and international presenter on issues of abuse and trauma. Kevin is consultant to and a member of the Advisory Board for the Hecht Trauma Institute in Irvine, California; creating trainings for professionals, paraprofessionals, clinicians, first responders, and others treating interpersonal trauma. With his colleague, Lynette Danylchuck, he is co-author of Treating Complex Trauma and Dissociation: A practical guide to navigating therapeutic challenges. He also has contributed a chapter, “On Memory and Dissociative Process”, in The Traumatised Memory – Protection and Resistance, edited by R. Vogt, PhD.
Kevin is a Member-at-Large on the Board of Directors for the National Partnership to End Interpersonal Violence. He is a Fellow and Past President of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. For many years, he served on the ISSTD conference committee and was twice acknowledged for his service to ISSTD as a recipient of the President’s Award. Committed to providing the highest quality education on complex trauma and dissociative disorders across diverse domains, Kevin contributes leadership and guidance to multiple conferences. He serves as Co-Chair of the Institute on Violence, Abuse, & Trauma’s (IVAT) International San Diego Summit Planning Committee’s Adult Survivors of Childhood Maltreatment Track. He is a member of the IVAT International Hawaii Summit’ Planning Committee. Kevin also contributes by expanding the curriculum of the Mental Health Association of Orange County’s Meeting of the Minds Conference held annually in Southern California.
