Carly Hill is a third year medical student from the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to pursuing medicine, Carly completed her Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology and a minor in Kinesiology at the University of Regina in 2020. Her research interests include pediatric healthcare and development, women and girls in STEM, and public health complex systems thinking. Carly's most recent research endeavor and publication (Diverse approaches to creating and using causal loop diagrams in public health research: Recommendations from a scoping review) in Public Health Reviews (2021) was a literature review focused on complex systems thinking in public health through the use of causal loop schematic diagrams. During her undergraduate years, Carly spent time advocating for students through her positions with the University of Regina as a student senate representative and student union director. She has enjoyed working with children and adolescents through her positions as a competitive dance teacher for several Saskatchewan based dance organizations and as the artistic studio director for a rural dance organization (Silton Silhouettes Dance Club, 2017-2020). She has also been involved in various programs with EYES (Education Youth in Engineering and Science, 2017-2019), that works to engage children, specifically underserved youth and females, in STEM-related activities. Carly hopes to continue working with pediatric populations as a practicing physician in the near future.
