Amanda Huffman (she/her/hers) holds a Master of Social Work and Master of Divinity from Baylor University, graduating in 2006 & 2007, respectively. Amanda is currently a practicing clinical social worker and clinical supervisor in private practice. She resides in central Kentucky but is licensed to practice and provide supervision in Kentucky and Texas. Early in her career she was intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and ran an intensive outpatient group at a psychiatric hospital in Austin, TX. Amanda then went on to partner with a local psychiatrist and founded Austin Center for Psychological Care. This agency was the first privately owned IOP clinic in the area providing DBT and trauma informed care. In 2018, Amanda partnered with a psychiatrist to found Azurite Counseling, another independently owned IOP in Houston, TX. During this time, Amanda had the honor of working with a holistically trained psychiatrist and began studying gut health and nutrition. She obtained a Nutrition Coaching certification to incorporate a holistic approach to her practice. In 2019, Amanda moved back to central Kentucky to open a somatic trauma healing retreat on an organic farm. After completing the three year Somatic Experiencing Training in 2016, Amanda went on to become an active training assistant at all levels, including master classes with Dr. Peter Levine. Amanda is currently the Lead Assistant for SE training in Kentucky. She has also completed all levels of training in Bodywork & Somatic Education (BASE), Neuroaffective Relational Model (NARM), and Interpersonal Neurobiology. Amanda assists BASE nationally and internationally and is a current training assistant with the NARM Training Institute. Amanda feels drawn to supporting those whose lives have been impacted by trauma through a holistic approach as well as mentoring and supporting the development of the next generation of trauma practitioners.
