Tally Tripp is a registered and board-certified art therapist, licensed clinical social worker and certified trauma therapist working extensively with complex trauma and dissociation in the DC Metro area. She is certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Intensive Trauma Therapy (ITT).
Tally is the Director of Training for Common Threads Project, a US based nonprofit working globally with female survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. She also consults with the Global Alliance Therapeutic Arts Program (East Africa) and the Nigerian IDP Diaspora Support Group providing consultation and training for implementing creative arts therapies in each of these contexts.
At the ISSTD, Tally is a Board Director and Fellow, and served on the Executive Committee during 2021 as Vice President. Tally is the Co- Chair of the International Task Force and served as the Co- Founder and Chair of the ISSTD Creative Arts Therapy Special Interest Group (CAT SIG). She holds an Advanced Trauma Certification from the Center for Advanced Studies in Trauma and Dissociation.
For over 30 years, Tally has been a professor and lecturer at the George Washington University Art Therapy Graduate Program where she developed a comprehensive trauma curriculum and served as the founder and Director of the GW University Art Therapy Center, providing low fee art therapy services to the community. Tally is a frequent presenter and trainer at national and international conferences and has written several book chapters and professional publications on the topic of Art Therapy and Trauma.
