James Mwangi is a recognized supply chain leader in malaria programming for the country directly impacting the lives of the country's population by expanding access to malaria commodities. He has been instrumental in coordinating national-level supply chain activities across donors and government stakeholders to ensure continuous access to life-saving commodities for communities. He has a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Nairobi, with a major in Botany and Zoology. He has 14 years of experience in supply chain with special expertise in the management of Long-lasting insecticide-treated nets and has played a major role in ensuring their availability and end-to-end visibility thereby improving commodity accountability in Kenya.
James presented an abstract on improving routine insecticide-treated nets distribution through the combined population and uptake data during the Kenya National Malaria Forum. He has a special interest in research on supply chain management and how to improve commodity accountability at all levels. He is currently working as a Senior Technical Officer at USAID Afya Ugavi project providing technical support to the Division of National Malaria program.
