My name is Lipin Lukose, hailing from the beautiful country India. I am an aspiring Pharm.D student currently in the internship and final year of my course. I have always been fascinated by the fields of Pharmaco-epidemiology and public health and wish to pursue my future in the same. The field of public health had always enticed me, and I wanted to explore more in it.
While doing my internship at National AIDS control organization(NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, being a clueless teenager of what to pursue my future and in the process of being exposed to the wide variety of possibilities, I got a essence of the public health profession. I realized the impact that the professionals have on the society much like the hidden guardians of the people. That’s when I realized that this was my calling and decided to pursue my future in it.
After that I started working in the fields of pharmacoepidemiology and public health as part of my dissertation and various other projects. I am also the head of the Pharmacy Literacy Club, centre for public health pharmacy, MAHE and have partaken and helped in the successful organization of many community outreach programs and events.
As a student, I feel that partaking in the ISPE mid year meeting will point me in the right direction and help me to connect with the pioneers in the field of pharmaco-epidemiology and public health. As our university currently does not provide any funding for attending international conferences and my family is not in a favorable position to finance for the conference, I kindly request you to consider me as an applicant for your scholarship so that it helps me to leave my mark in the field of public health in the future.
