Courtney Johnson is a PhD candidate in the Health Services, Policy, and Practice Department at Brown University School of Public Health. The overarching goal of her research is to evaluate interventions that improve population health, particularly for people with chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and mental health. Her research interests include quality of care, health disparities, medication adherence, and social determinants of health. Her dissertation aims to evaluate the effect of chronic disease-related health shocks, such as myocardial infarction, on medication adherence in the Medicaid population. She received her MPH from Boston University School of Public Health and her BA in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.
