Elizabeth (Liz) Delsandro is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist. She has worked with children and adults with autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental disabilities for over 25 years, in a variety of roles such as a direct service provider at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD and the Waisman Center in Madison, WI; a direct service provider in the public schools; an autism consultant in the public schools; and as a clinical faculty member for both the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Liz has developed and facilitated a variety of social-communication programs (e.g., social interaction groups, science clubs, cooking clubs) with a focus on clinical teaching and community outreach, as well as taught courses and workshops related to evidence-based practice in communication development in individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. Liz’s areas of interest include community outreach; supervision, coaching, and mentoring; evidence-based practices for promoting functional communication and social-communication skills in individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental disabilities; as well as co-facilitating feeding, speech-language, social-communication and play development in young children and parent coaching.
