Lauri DeRuiter-Willems, PhD, Assistant Professor, Departmental Honors Coordinator, Department of Public Health and Nutrition, Eastern Illinois University since 2006. Lauri’s research and teaching practice includes health literacy and social determinants of health, health marketing and communication, and student career preparation and professional development. By incorporating experiential learning activities and practical applications into her teaching, she believes students are best prepared for the workforce.
