Abstract: Current clinical and evidence-based methods for assessing individuals for acquired apraxia of speech will be covered, with review of evidence-based treatment techniques and strategies.
Summary of Presentation: Update on recent research in the field of acquired apraxia of speech, including tools that are clinically relevant and helpful for quickly and accurately assisting in supporting a diagnosis of acquired apraxia of speech. Utilizing sound assessment tools to assist in generating a functional treatment plan. Discussion of treatment techniques, their application in conjunction with aphasia treatment, and their potential application in a variety of settings, including in teletherapy.
