Abstract: This seminar on leadership will focus on identifying the leadership competencies required to create the culture of change required to respond to future-focused challenges in order to advance strategic initiatives. The seminar will offer guidance on how leaders can evaluate their own leadership strengths and limitations and those they select to lead. The seminar will conclude with a discussion on how to implement a plan to achieve a vision of excellence for their organization.
Summary: Rath and Conchie (2008) identified trust, compassion, stability, and hope among the strengths required to lead an organization. White (2004) added that setting expectations, selecting talent, and having high energy further define successful leadership. Richard (2021) and Blixt (2021) include innovation and vision to further define the competencies of successful leaders. This seminar will coalesce guidance from these and other authors on leadership success and translate their research into key competencies aligned with four goals: creating the 1) culture, 2) teams, 3) vision, and 4) pathways to promote innovation and achieve change leading to success. The seminar will consider competencies identified by each of the authors, how to recognize them, how to evaluate them, and how to promote them to achieve your vision of excelence for your organization.
