Abstract:
The educational landscape for students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) has changed as a result of lockdown during the pandemic. Audiologists, educators and other professionals have had to figure out ways to provide accessible services remotely/virtually, in person and/or in a hybrid format. This session will provide an overview and specific tips and tools that our students can use in these various environments. We will review assistive technologies for visual and/or auditory learners, innovations in captioning tools, options for viewing captioning or interpreters, DHH-friendly features of various videoconference platforms, and tools to evaluate what are the most effective options for the students that we serve.
