My name is Diego Armando Ramirez Florez, I feel proud to be Colombian and to belong to the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Auburn University. My natal town is Bucaramanga, well known as the Beautiful City of Colombia. It is a medium size and beauty city located in the center of the country on the Andes mountain range. I got my degree in Civil Engineering at the Industrial University of Santander, in Spanish “Universidad Industrial de Santander – UIS”, a prestigious public university placed on my natal town. After got my degree, I worked for ten years in construction projects related to residential buildings. Initially, I was in charge of the installation of post-tensioned concrete systems of the building structures and then, I was promoted to superintendent.
In spring of 2022, I started to work as a graduate research assistant for Dr. Michael Perez in projects related to erosion and sediment control.
