Deniz Arslan is doing a PhD at Cranfield University, UK, sponsored by ICL. Her research focuses on the mechanistic function of soil surfactants and their impacts on soil hydrology. She completed her MRes at Bangor University, UK, which studied the efficiency and environmental effects of organo-mineral fertilisers when compared to sole mineral or organic fertilisers. Her BSc in ecology focused on the viability of vertical greening as means of reducing air pollution in Kathmandu, Nepal. Similarly, Deniz aims to continue her research career in environmentally sustainable solutions to pressing socio-political issues, especially through the decolonisation of many sectors and industries.
