James E. “Jay” Sprague, a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control, is the Laboratory Director of TRI Environmental’s Roads to Rivers Research Institute in Greenville, SC. Mr. Sprague has been integrally involved with implementing large-scale test methods, including the construction and maintenance of the state-of-the-art facilities that make TRI the only independent commercial laboratory offering such a wide array of performance testing capabilities to the erosion and sediment control, plastic pipe, geosynthetic, and stormwater industries. Mr. Sprague is actively involved in ASTM, and the standardization of test methods for the evaluation of sediment and erosion control products. Mr. Sprague is an internationally recognized author and speaker, and has authored or co-authored dozens of peer reviewed articles, technical papers, and textbooks related to erosion and sediment control, plastic pipe, geosynthetics, and stormwater technologies. Mr. Sprague resides with his wife and young children in Greenville, SC.
