I serve the HazMat Chief of the NorthEast District of the Allegheny County Hazardous Materials Response Team (ACHMRT) in Allegheny County, PA. I have been trained as a Technician since 1999, and have been a member of the ACHMRT since 2012. I oversee an operating budget of $14,000 annually for equipment and training (all other related expenses are cared for by the County and LEPC), and the staffing of over 20 volunteers. I was formerly employed as a Plant Protection Officer at a major steel manufacturing company in Western PA; as the Fire Training Coordinator at a Community College, where i was responsible for overseeing the training and certification programs; and as a career Firefighter/EMT at Matthews Fire & EMS.
I currently work full-time as a Federal Agent and have collateral duties as the Health and Safety Officer of the District, where I oversee several emergency response aspects of hazardous materials storage and response plans. I am currently assigned to a Federal Task Force and have the responsibility of evidence collection in hazardous environments, and have been trained in the FBI's 12-Step program.
I am employed part-time by the Borough of Freeport as their Director of Public Safety. I oversee several response agencies, and serve as the "Chief Emergency Responder." I have direct oversight of many Offices and Divisions, including the Fire Marshals Office, Office of Emergency Management, Health and Safety, Fire, Rescue, and EMS agencies, as well as several code enforcment and public planning departments.
