Aaron Lottes, PhD, is Associate Professor of Engineering Practice in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University. His teaching involves sharing regulatory knowledge to help improve the translational process of bringing new discoveries and new medical products from research to clinical use and ultimately to regulatory approval and commercial availability for the benefit of patients. Research interests include the role of regulatory and clinical science to optimize the development, evaluation, and approval of medical devices. Dr. Lottes was previously Director of Regulatory Science for Cook Medical with responsibilities focused on the Peripheral Arterial Disease program and optimizing global regulatory and clinical strategies. He is actively involved in global harmonization efforts and collection and use of real-world evidence, and consults for the medical device industry.
