Dr. Akl Fahed is an interventional cardiologist and physician-scientist at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. His clinical expertise is in the invasive evaluation and treatment of epicardial and microvascular coronary artery disease, with special interest in high-risk coronary interventions, intravascular imaging, and coronary physiology. His NIH-funded research bridges genomics and coronary imaging including machine learning techniques to improve prevention, treatment, and understanding the mechanisms of coronary artery disease.
