Philip B. Adamson, MD, MSc, FACC, FRCP (Ed) Chief Medical Officer and Divisional Vice President, Global Medical Affairs – Abbott Heart Failure Division
Dr. Adamson is responsible for global development of Abbott’s heart failure formulary including Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy, CardioMEMS HF™ System and HeartMate 3 Left Ventricular Assist System. He received his M.D. (with distinction) and Masters of Science in Cardiovascular Physiology from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where he also trained in internal medicine and cardiology. He joined the faculty at the University of Oklahoma with NIH support to investigate the autonomic mechanisms of sudden cardiac death. Dr. Adamson’s clinical interests were to develop more efficient and effective heart failure disease management systems using remote monitoring of physiologic signals from implanted devices.
