Dr. Eline Ploumen is a Cardiology Resident at Thoraxcentrum Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands. She obtained her PhD at the University of Twente. Her PhD focused on new-generation drug-eluting stents in various patient populations, especially in patients with (pre)diabetes. She worked on two large-scale randomized clinical trials, the BIO-RESORT and BIONYX trials, which were initiated by professor Clemens von Birgelen. These trials investigate novel drug-eluting stents for percutaneous coronary intervention.
